Enforcer
The Enforcer is a weapon that was first featured in Red Faction: Guerrilla, then returned in Red Faction: Armageddon as a pre-order bonus and via DLC.
Description
Based upon the EDF's Assault Rifle, The Enforcer was designed as an upgrade by MiyoCo on Earth but never really caught on as a weapon of choice on Mars. It uses heat-seeking rounds but loses speed and striking power due to the course changes a bullet takes in flight. The weapon is issued to specialists who require precision around tight corners.
The Enforcer is a specialist-issue firearm in the military's elite infantry divisions, specifically designed for at-range anti-personnel engagement. It fires a caseless rocket-propelled armour-piercing round with limited heat-seeking capability. The round is highly accurate against soft targets, even at long range.
Rather than simply facing an enemy and holding down the fire button, it's more effective to treat the Enforcer as something like an auto-aiming pistol, pointing at the head and upper torso and squeezing off shots in a "semi-automatic" style. Not only does this reduce recoil, but increases the chances of a homing round hitting the head and eliminating the foe quickly.
Red Faction: Armageddon
The Enforcer is a decent alternative to the Assault Rifle, particularly at close to intermediate range. Simply aim the weapon in the general direction of the enemy and pull the trigger. Even if your aim is slightly off, the bullet makes minute course corrections in mid-flight in an effort to strike the target. While the precision of the weapon is welcome, the Enforcer lacks the stopping power of other weapons in your arsenal. Still, the rate of fire and unparalleled accuracy more than makes up for this deficiency.
Use it against light enemies like Creepers and Ravagers. In a pinch, it can also be effective against Wraiths and Berserkers, but bring out the heavier weapons for confronting anything larger.
