Catch And Release

From Red Faction Wiki

Catch And Release is a mission in Red Faction: Guerrilla.

Summary

Hugo Davies believes Colonel Joseph Broga has information that would help the Red Faction cross the Free Fire Zone. Alec Mason meets up with Jonathan Kepler and interrogator Carmen Avila to break into an EDF base and question Broga. The interrogation results in the death of Broga and reveals gaps in the EDF's artillery coverage that allow the Red Faction to cross the Free Fire Zone into Eos.

Briefing

Hugo Davies The Free Fire Zone lies between Dust and Eos. Their guns obliterate whatever comes within range. Colonel Joseph Broga is the commander of the artillery base located there. Your job is to break into this EDF base and bring Broga back to the safehouse. We believe the colonel has information that can help us. Our interrogator will do the questioning. Your job is to run security.

Dialogue

Hugo Davies Meet up with our interrogator. Her name is Carmen.
Picking up Carmen and Kepler
Carmen Avila Took you long enough. You ready?
Jon Kepler He always is.
Carmen Avila Broga's dug in pretty well. This could get messy.
Alec Mason It usually does.
Reached EDF base
Alec Mason We're in position.
Hugo Davies Good. Secure the vehicle. Colonel Broga's in the back seat.
Carmen Avila We need to take out these drones!
Killed EDF and entered Broga's vehicle
Carmen Avila Kepler, drive. Mason, keep the EDF off our asses.
Jon Kepler And you get all the fun, eh?
Joseph Broga Judging from the lack of discipline, you must be Red Faction.
Jon Kepler And you're a prisoner of war, Broga. Cooperate and you'll live longer.
Carmen Avila But not forever.
Joseph Broga You can put the tools away. Your methods won't work on me--I'm a trained officer.
Jon Kepler Hey, commander. We've got Broga.
Hugo Davies Good. Start the interrogation, and bring him to the safehouse.
Interrogation begins
Carmen Avila So colonel, what are all these documents you have here?
Joseph Broga Listen to me! You can still avoid retaliation. The EDF will negotiate for my release--
Carmen Avila Trust me, colonel--By the time this ride's over, they won't want you back.
Joseph Broga You can't make me talk!
Carmen Avila Who said anything about talking?
Joseph Broga No! Stop!
Carmen Avila How many have you tortured, colonel? I'm surprised you don't remember me.
Joseph Broga I've never seen you before in my life!
Carmen Avila Let me prod your memory. Now tell me about your documents here. Is this a map?
Joseph Broga Yes!
Carmen Avila It's pretty. What is this place?
Joseph Broga Damn you to hell! It's the Free Fire Zone!
Carmen Avila Did you hear that, Mason? A map of the Free Fire Zone!
Joseph Broga Did you say, Mason?
Carmen Avila I'm rather good at this, aren't I? Tell me I'm good.
Joseph Broga You're good.
Carmen Avila I learned from a master. Now these points on the map, what do they mean?
Joseph Broga It's firing data. We test the artillery.
Carmen Avila I see. And these circles here?
Joseph Broga They're target locations. They're blind spots!
Carmen Avila Blind spots?
Joseph Broga Gaps in the artillery coverage.
Carmen Avila You mean your guns can't hit them?
Joseph Broga Correct. They're obstructed.
Carmen Avila So if we follow these points through the zone...
Joseph Broga You'll never make it! No one drives that fast!
Carmen Avila Mason here drives fast, don't you Mason?
Joseph Broga You'll die out there!
Circling safehouse area
Alec Mason This doesn't exactly look like a rescue squad.
Jon Kepler The safehouse is too hot, commander. We can't hold him here.
Hugo Davies Then keep driving until we get the information we need.
Carmen Avila Commander, we've got the information.
Hugo Davies Excellent. Dispose of the colonel.
Driving to the Mohole
Carmen Avila Let's take him to the Mohole.
Alec Mason Yeah! We play this right, we'll draw the EDF right in.
Jon Kepler Looks like your pals would rather kill you than let you spill your secrets, colonel.
Carmen Avila You know me now, don't you, colonel. You remembered when I got in the car. I saw it in your eyes.
Joseph Broga I'm...sorry... Sorry for what I did.
Carmen Avila I don't forgive you. Do you want to see my scars? This is what you did to my body. Now let me show you what you did to my mind.
Joseph Broga Please. Kill me, kill me!
Jon Kepler Jump!
Broga's death
Alec Mason Broga's dead, commander. We've got the data.
Hugo Davies Bring it in for analysis. If there's a path through the Free Fire Zone, we're going to find it.
