Information
Goal	Originally to travel to the Red Faction base, but redirected by Eos to destroy Geothermal Power Plant.

Abandoned Mine is the fourth level/chapter in the Red Faction single player campaign. It consists of 6 individual maps and begins just after Parker battles the Combat Drone at the end of L3: Miner Registration. It is followed by L5: Geothermal Power Plant.

After escaping the shuttle docking bay, Parker takes an elevator down to the sector 4 mines on level 17 destined for the Red Faction base. After the elevator breaks down, Parker is forced to think quickly and grab a ladder to avoid falling to his death. After that, Parker encounters a broken down door and is forced to use his Remote Charges to blast around it.

Secret Assault Rifle Tunnel

• If you turn left before dropping down to the broken door, and after grapping the Sniper Rifle, you will find a short hidden tunnel with 2 Assault Rifles and an ammo pack at the end of it.

Parker falls into a pool of water at the bottom of a decaying and unstable old mine shaft and must venture up the rock path toward the Red Faction base.

L4S3: Abandoned Ore Hopper

Parker continues to explore the abandoned ore processing facility and finally enters the ventilation system. Parker also has the option to go back through the abandoned smelter and enter the ventilation system through L4S2 instead.

Secret Explosives Stash

• If you tunnel into the rock behind the abandoned ore hopper, you're rewarded with 3 medical kits, a suit repair pack, 3 Remote Charges and 2 Rocket Launcher ammo packs.

L4S4: Abandoned Crusher

NOTE: For unknown reasons, this map is out of order. L4S4 actually occurs after L4S5, and acts as a join between L4S5 and L6S1.

Parker exits the ventilation system and has to deal with an Envirosuit Guard equipped with a Sniper Rifle on top of the rocket crusher. Then, continuing down the tunnel, he comes upon a bridge the guards have retracted and must either jump the gap or shoot the lever to bring the bridge back across. Finally, Parker enters the airlock before the Geothermal Power Plant.

L4S5: Ventilation Shaft

Parker enters the ventilation shaft and must make his way up to the top, turn off the large fan, and walk along the blades to the other side. Then, he climbs down a ladder and enters another vent tunnel.
