    Audio Log

    Audio Logs are collectable items in Red Faction: Armageddon that provide lore surrounding current and past events of the game's story. Logs can be identified by their light blue beam above the object.

    There are 47 audio logs in total. To earn the Chronicler achievement, only 40 logs need to be collected by the player. Once an audio log is found, it can be later listened to through the game's "Extras" menu.

    In addition to the 37 audio logs, the player receives 10 additional audio logs relating to Noella's archivist data.

    Armageddon

    Audio Log 06
    Last day in uniform tomorrow. Don't know how I feel about that. The Red Faction is all I've known my whole life... but I made a promise to Marie. She worries to much. Should be slow tomorrow. Just a routine patrol around the Terraformer and then I'm officially retired.

    This log is at the start of the level - Before you destroy the Last shield protector tower after picking up the Plasma Cannon - Go to the right away from the shielded exit, and the log is beside one of the defensive barriers.

    Jason Paul, ID number 6-0-0-4-5. Evening report. Nothing. As usual, Sectors 1 through 36 are quiet and humming along. I swear I could take a four-hour nap and nobody would notice. Shoulda went into mining. Nothing exciting ever happens here.

    Immediately after the cutscene where the drop ship is destroyed, There is a building on the right with enemies you have to kill, to the right side of the building, there's a path that leads around the back, right here is the log.

    The Terraformer

    After going up the first set of ramps that spiral, you'll enter a corridor with 2 Cultists, the log is sitting in the doorway to your right.

    After repairing the turbines and stopping the Cultists from destroying the room, you go up a ladder and to another set of spiralling ramps. When you get to the top there is a Cultist Officer - behind him on route to the next area is the audio log.

    Road To Bastion

    When the Gondola portion of the level ends, the level continues down into a tunnel. Instead of going into the tunnel, take the road that curves up to the right, the log is up there amongst some ammo and salvage.

    After collecting the second power cell, you go up some steps towards a tunnel with two turrets facing into it. If you continue past the turrets the audio log is off to the side by the rock wall.

    After you repair the first set of water pumps, you go out into an area where a Berserker attacks you. Just passed him on the left is a Monorail station, and on the other side of the of the platforms is the audio log, you will need to sprint and jump to get it.

    Ice Mines

    As soon as the level starts, you head out of a tunnel and go up some stairs, the game will give you the Rocket Launcher, On the right of you will be some boxes, the log is behind them.

    We've run some preliminary surface tests and the results are...well, they're not good. The storms are out of control and show no signs of stopping. Atmosphere-wise we're OK... we can breathe it, but there's no way to judge long-term effects. We may be stuck down here for a while now.

    After exiting the administration building, a Monolith will spawn. Behind the Monolith is the steps upwards to continue onwards, if you walk past the steps down to the right hand side you will comes across the audio log as well as salvage and ammo.

    Immediately after the cutscene with the dying corporeal, theres some stairs to your left and a chain fence on your right, go up the stairs and look for an entrance to a room where a big claw like machine is in the middle, on the bottom floor of that room is the audio log.

    Infection

    If you are destroying the buildings in order, you will come across a large dome shaped building as number four out of five, beside that is a non infected building, the audio log is by a dead person and some ammo to the side of this building.

    On The Run

    These pipes aren't looking good...Too much condensation building up on the outside. Shit rusts a lot faster since the Terraformer blew. Then the pipe leaks and the water starts eating away at the rock. It's like this all over...I don't know how we're gonna fix it. We got maybe a year or two before the whole system collapses...

    When Kara makes contact with you, you have to repair the ramp to continue onwards, after the conversation is complete and you repair the ramp, instead of going up the ramp to the right go towards the weapon station directly ahead of you. To the left is the audio log.

    The placement of this log is very deceptive, it is on the left behind a wall immediately after going inside the building where Darius asks S.A.M. if he can cut through the building. You have to exit the LEO to get to it.

    After passing through the turbulent wind section of the level, you go down a bridge to destroy the third tower. The game then wants you to continue down to the right to get to the fourth and fifth towers, before doing that there's a catwalk bridge that inclines to higher ground on the left, just on the right after crossing the bridge is the audio log.

    Marauder Defenses

    We are now 26 hours and counting since our last contact with the colonists. I think it's time to assume the worst. The Chancellor has begun contingency planning with the top generals. Whatever Red Faction's plan is, we know it will result in high casualties. We are ready for it. If they want a war, we'll give them one.

    Just as Kara informs Darius that the first generator is up and running, you will be at a bridge crossing with several paths. Instead of going down to the right where the game wants you to go, go straight on up and over the bridge in front of you. The audio log is on the other side with some salvage and ammo.

    Something hit Omega station last night. I've never seen anything like it. Bodies torn apart...flesh burned to the bone. Nobody can prove it, but I know Red Faction are behind this. They've gone too far. I'm going to advise the Chancellor to authorize Project Centurion.

    After defeating the Behemoth and Wraiths to remove the barrier and continue, you are presented with the next objective to destroy the bridge. You can get this audio log before or after, since you will go in the direction of the audio log as the last part of this mission. In the black hallway leading to the turret defence section, the left side of the room has the audio log in an inlet.

    Older Enemies

    I...I was wrong. This wasn't the Red Faction. It never was. Something has been...awakened. Something that's been here for a long...long time. We should have known better. We were to focused on what we wanted to believe...We've been overrun. The Chancellor is missing. Half our forces are dead. The rest won't survive the week. We planned for the wrong war. And now...now, it's to late.

    The Road Less Travelled

    The design is flawless. Eight relays feeding into a central geothermal reactor that powers the repulsor beam, that in turn churns the magma. It's literally powering itself. Forever. Publicly, the machine is simply an experiment in renewable energy...It's a pity no one will ever know its true purpose...

    After the first portion of riding the barge is over and you have to disable the forcefield preventing the barge moving further, you get off and go up the path into a structure, on the right as you enter is the audio log.

    Noella's Archivist Logs

    Log Transcript
    01 Someone has been accessing the archive remotely...I'm not sure what they're looking for, but the targeted files seem to be from the Ultor database. They won't have much luck finding anything...They'll never be able to get through the decryptions...Should probably keep an eye on this though...Who knows what else they're after.
    02 We've found out the identity of the hacker. It's Adam Hale. The files being targeted are Capek's personal logs...Everything we've kept secret from the public - secret from our own leaders - is in there...the MASTers, the Seal, the origin of the Plauge...He must be stopped.
    03 Hale knows about the expedition...He knows Capek and his Martian Advanced Science Team - The MASTers - found an ancient shaft...thousands of years old...That's why he's trying to access the records. He wants what's down there...Sleeping in the planet core.
    04 The destruction of the Terraformer has been devastating...but there is a silver lining in it. Hale is dead. Whatever his master plan was, it's now over. Capek's secrets are buried with him.
    05 I can't go to the Marauders with this information. The Archivists have kept this truth hidden all these years...I cannot break my vows. But I fear what will happen if I do not. Hale is too close...
    06 Capek discovered the...the nightmares...All his scientific breakthroughs...his "miracles"...were a direct result of what the MASTers found deep below the surface. We were successful in stopping their first attack...but the Ultor Plague was just a precursor...something worse is coming.
    07 This can't be happening...Hale is dead. No one else knew about the creatures...The clues to stopping them must be in Capek's journals. I can find it. I just need more time...
    08 They spent months inside those tunnels...studying the dormant creatures...taking samples...And then something happened. Something woke them up. They escaped just in time...Only a handful of scientists survived, and the ones that returned had gone mad. Capek the worst of them all...
    09 The Seal is the key to everything...its technology is far superior to anything we've ever known. According to the records, it acts as an environmental control...an atmospheric generator of some kind. No one knows where it came from...But as long as the Seal is in place, the Plague stays dormant.
    10 Hale is alive...I'm sure of it. He accessed the Ultor logs again last night. I've locked the archives, but that won't stop him. He'll come looking for me. None of this can be stopped now...We're all doomed.
