Interplay Entertainment is an American video game developer and publisher based in Los Angeles. Widely known for their many other projects including the Fallout series, for the purposes of this wiki, Interplay is most relevant as the publisher of the Descent series, and one-time publishing partner for both Volition and Outrage.

Shortly after Outrage released Descent 3, Volition decided to end their partnership with Interplay. Following the split, publishing rights for the Descent series stayed with Interplay, leading Volition to cancel their active Descent 4 project and begin work on Red Faction.
