When the mining conglomerates discovered a large deposit of ore beneath their colony, Davies and the rest of his people were ordered to leave the land and their homes. When they staged a sit-in to protest, the EDF rolled in - the result was a massacre.

Davies gave up on the tactics many preferred - negotiations, mediation, peaceful demonstrations - and began training his followers for a new kind of war. They adopted hit-and-run tactics to combat the military might of the EDF and took up the mantle of the too-long dormant Red Faction.

Hugo Davies was killed in an EDF attack led by Jenkins on the Badlands Base.
