Alien Queen

From Red Faction Wiki

  • The Queen Is the Central Antagonist on behalf of the Alien Plague infesting Mars' underbelly that you fight during the Red Faction: Armageddon Single Player Campaign.

    Description

    The Queen is the centre point of the of hive-mind like Plague. showing up late into the story, she appears specifically as a heat signature in The Lair and also as the boss fight of her self-titled level, The Queen.

    The Queen boss fight happens in 2 separate phases;

    • Phase 1 - The Queen will attack you in the direction you are in and has a static toxic liquid beam which you have to dodge, during this phase you must hit her 3 weak points to deplete her health - 1 on either side of her body, and 1 in the centre of her body. The middle one requires 3 whereas the others require 2, making it more difficult as you have to hit it closer to the toxic spray.
    • Phase 2 - After destroying the 3 weak points, she breaks the pillars obscuring you from her attack, and now performs a scrolling spray attack where she starts her spray at one side of the room and continuously sprays as she turns around the curvature of the room, meaning you have to keep moving to stay out of its way. During this phase she has 4 weak points - but all of them only require 2 hits. 2 for either side of her head. If you destroy one it stops her attack and she restarts a new attack after a small delay - so its best to do your best to destroy one per spray. Sometimes she swaps sides and goes the other way.

    During the fight, as you deplete her health by destroying her weak points, The walls open up and spawn in many of the creatures previously faced throughout the game, so keep an eye on that - Whilst the Rocket Launcher is great for her weak points, the Singularity Cannon is a great tool for managing crowd control and keeping the creatures off of you whilst you focus on the Queen.

    Queen Tentacle

    Queen Tentacle

    Deep in the Queen's lair, you encounter several massive tentacles that block passages. Unlike the smaller tentacles, these tentacles don't move or attack. Instead, they simply prevent you from reaching critical areas. Locate the ends of the tentacles and target the tendril-like appendages. Targeting these vulnerable ends cause the tentacles to explode, clearing a path for you.
