A River Runs To It: Difference between revisions

A River Runs To It is the eighth main chapter of the Red Faction II single player campaign following from Dancing With The Dead. A River Runs to It consists of 4 individual maps and begins where Alias left off after his battle with Quill, on the docks with a factory across from him as Tangier makes her way towards him with a submarine. It is followed by Inside The Nano Base.

On The Docks

“ Tangier is on the way. Alias must live long enough to meet her. „

As Alias studies the Factory in front of him, separated from it by a river, an Enemy Dropship flies in overhead, dropping enemies onto the roof, as more enemies emerge from the roof tops and windows, pinning Alias down on the dock. He battles them until Tangier arrives with a submarine, informing him of a plan to stop Molov.

Bonus Objective

Crush the enemy.

Inside The Submarine

“ Enemies attack from all directions in an underwater battle. „

Alias and Tangier descend underwater, and begin their route to the Nano Base. As they do they encounter enemy submarines trying to deter them from reaching their objective.

Bonus Objective

Destroy Garbage scow.

Dive! Dive! Dive!

“ Alias fights against all odds to avoid a watery death. „

As Alias and Tangier continue their journey, they encounter more hazards, including charges being dropped from above and magnetic land mines in the depths, aswell as more submarines. Tangier makes a comment about Shrike not being present in a vehicular combat scenario as the duo duck and weave the Commonwealth hazards.

Bonus Objectives

Geo-Mod the bridge to destroy the sub.
Destroy the ammo crates.
Destroy the fuel drums.
Geo-mod past the homing mines.

The Right Way In

“ Tangier points the way as Alias lays on the firepower. „

Tangier informs Alias that the sub bays to gain access to the Nano Base are locked, and she needs time to hack the security system, so Alias has to defend them. Again the hazardous water prove to be a challenge as they dodge more mines and charges, and battles submarines before finally, Tangier has the door unlocked and the pair enter the base.

Bonus Objective

Destroy all enemy subs.
