Infestation is a co-op multiplayer mode that can be played either in solo offline or multiplayer LAN or Online modes.
During Infestation, the objective is to fend off wave after wave of attacking aliens. In some situations all you have to do is survive, in others you must defend structures and equipment from the aliens and maintain their integrity.
The mode is equally subjected to the same difficulty tiers as the main game, allowing you to change between Casual, Normal, Hard and Insane.
Alongside this, you can also purchase upgrades from the main menu, allowing you to enhance your combat abilities amongst other upgrades.

Customization
During Infestation - you play as characters that are not Darius, therefore do not have access to the full set of Nano Forge abilities, instead, they have the repair grenade that Darius gets halfway through the single player story, and they can equip one ability only as their chosen ability during playthroughs of the game mode.
Alongside character selection, there is also a profile customization option, allowing you to customize your icons and colours to suit.
