The CAR-72 Military Assault Rifle is a weapon in Red Faction II.
Description
Similar to the AK-47s from the past, this semi-automatic weapon is designed to offer all the benefits of a full sized rifle in compact form. It is capable of firing a three round burst or a less accurate fully automatic onslaught. The high-velocity, armour-piercing shells inflict massive amounts of damage on unarmoured targets and will exact noticeable damage on armoured opponents as well. The assault rifle is a standard-issue weapon for the Commonwealth soldiers and grunts.
The Assault Rifle is a very good mid game close range weapon, that can also deal good damage at a longer range with its short burst rounds. Use it in close-range firefights with fully automatic to clear enemies fast.
As previously stated, the common units weilding the assault rife is Sopot's ground troops. The player can access it in Foreign Lands, before the weapons are reset, and then again in the Underground level.
